Last week, the Road to BIO-Europe Pitch Competition took place.
Together with our partners Gateway Factory and KölnBusiness Wirtschaftsförderung, we welcomed outstanding life science startups, stakeholders from the innovation ecosystem, as well as experts and supporters from the industry at InnoDom Cologne.
The event provided the previously selected startups with the opportunity to present their innovative approaches and forward-looking developments to the audience and jury with Tanja Bloser (Gateway Factory), Martin Kretschmer (KölnBusiness Wirtschaftsförderung) und André van Hall (BioCampus Cologne | RTZ Köln).
The diversity of the pitches and the scientific excellence of the teams clearly demonstrated the tremendous innovation potential within the regional life science ecosystem. The jury was so impressed by the quality of all presentations that every participating startup was awarded a ticket to the BIO-Europe.
The selected startups participating in the competition were ACCURIDS | BioThrust | Detechgene | JWP - Drug Elution Solutions | LIMAA Technologies | LIQOMICS | myotwin | VitrofluidiX | Vivalyx.
As the winner of the Pitch Competition, the Team by JWP - Drug Elution Solutions came out on top, securing the opportunity to pitch on the official stage of the BIO-Europe in Cologne this November. The first prize was sponsored by EBD Group | informa.
The Road to BIO-Europe Competition once again demonstrated how important collaboration within the network is for supporting young life science companies. Together with Gateway Factory, KölnBusiness Wirtschaftsförderung and BioCampus Cologne | RTZ Köln, we create visibility and development opportunities for ambitious founders and help bring innovations from the region to the international stage.
We would like to thank all participating startups as well as our partners - we look forward to seeing you at BIO-Europe 2026.
